The Movie: The Mask of Zorro is a 1998 American swashbuckler film based on the character of the same name created by Johnston McCulley. The film was directed by Martin Campbell and stars Antonio Banderas, Anthony Hopkins, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Stuart Wilson. The Mask of Zorro features the original Zorro, Don Diego de la Vega (Anthony Hopkins), escaping from his 20-year imprisonment to avenge the death of his wife and find his long-lost daughter (Catherine Zeta-Jones). He is aided by a handpicked successor (Antonio Banderas), who's pursues his own vendetta against the corrupt governor, Rafael Montero (Stuart Wilson).
