Monica Bellucci - I believe that we have a natural instinct which is very strong

Monica Bellucci

-"If there's something I believe in, it's a mysterious energy; the one that fills the oceans during tides, the one that unites nature and beings."
- "After a while in marriage, it doesn't work anymore. There is something missing, there is something wrong. There are few marriages that stay alive forever. We like something, and after a while, we hate what we used to love."
- "We all need illusions. That's why we love movies." - "You know, I'll tell you, when you're in front of the camera, for a small budget movie or a big budget movie, there's no difference. When you're in front of the camera, you just play and I think that also the language. I think for an actor, it's more important, an actor works with their soul and their thought and the language comes."

Shoot ‘Em Up

Cast: Clive Owen, Paul Giamatti, Monica Bellucci, Greg Bryk, Chris Jericho, Stephen McHattie, Jane McLean, Daniel Pilon

The film follows Mr. Smith (Clive Owen), a drifter who appears to have an extensive military background and a fondness for carrots who wants nothing more than to be left alone. Smith finds himself embroiled in a complex political conspiracy once he aids a pregnant woman who is going into labor while being chased by a hitman. After the woman is killed, he takes the baby and goes on the run with a lactating prostitute named Donna (Monica Bellucci). The unlikely family is trailed by the intelligent and ruthless Hertz (Paul Giamatti) and his army of thugs. A plethora of elaborate gunfights ensue, between which Smith pieces together the real story: a United States Senator who strongly supports gun control had been breeding babies for their bone marrow to treat his cancer, and a prominent gun baron has contracted Hertz to kill the babies. After Smith kills the senator he is captured by Hertz who tries to get him to tell where the woman and child are. He soon manages to escape and kill Hertz and returns to the baby and Donna. The film ends with him taking out a band of robbers who attempt to rob the restaurant where they are reunited.

Monica Bellucci as Daniela: How Much Do You Love Me Stills

How Much Do You Love Me

Cast: Monica Bellucci, Bernard Campan, Gérard Depardieu

François (Bernard Campan) is a bored office worker with health problems. He visits a brothel and claiming to have won the lottery and millions of euros, he propositions Daniela (Monica Bellucci), one of the prostitutes to live with him for the sum of 100,000 euros a month until his money runs out. She accepts. François' first doctor, André, is worried that Daniela's volcanic sexuality will cause François' heart to give out. The next day she takes François to beach and he loves that fresh air. They both starts running with hands wide out and cheering in joy. Then they both involve in sex inside François's car. That night André inquires them and finds their sexual activity that evening. Then André gives a moving speech about an idealistic and unrequited love he has for a nurse who later became his patient. Later, when Daniela suffers food poisoning and André is summoned to treat her, when she undresses he suffers a stroke and dies. At the funeral, François learns that André's nurse/patient/girlfriend had died some years before. The arrangement between Daniela and François seems to work for a little while until Daniela's former lover, Charly (Gérard Depardieu) demands money to allow the relationship to continue. François refuses and Daniela resumes being with Charly. While Daniela is having sex with Charly, she realizes she has really fallen in love with François who has meanwhile, started an affair with his next-door neighbor. The film concludes with a surreal pastiche of fantasy and conjecture which begins with François admitting that he never won the lottery. As the film has started somewhat as a complex story, it continues in the same way; till the last ten minutes wherein a comedic party starts. Daniela entices a friend of François and moves him away to sex. Seeing that, everyone comments her; but François is unmoved. Then the film ends, with the final shot picturing Daniela and François dining together. A new life starts for them.

Bram Stoker Dracula - Vampire Stills

Monica Bellucci - Bram Stoker Dracula

The film begins in a prologue, where Vlad III the Impaler defeats an overwhelming Turkish invasion in 1462. Upon returning home, he finds his beloved wife Elisabeta (Winona Ryder) dead, having committed suicide upon hearing the false reports of Vlad’s death in battle. Enraged at his wife being eternally damned as a suicide, the former devout Christian Dracula desecrates his chapel and renounces God, declaring that he will rise from the grave to avenge Elisabeta with all the powers of darkness.

Four centuries later, Jonathan Harker (Keanu Reeves), an assistant real estate agent, travels to Transylvania to arrange the transfer of Carfax Abbey in London, Count Dracula’s (Gary Oldman) newest real estate acquisition. At the castle, full of bizarre, unnatural features and shadows that move by themselves, Harker meets Dracula, a wrinkled, pale old man in brilliant red robes. During the final signing of the real estate papers, the Count caresses a picture of Harker’s fiancée Wilhelmina “Mina” Murray (Winona Ryder), the reincarnation of his long dead wife, Elisabeta. Dracula then sets sail on the ship Demeter to England, leaving Harker captive by Dracula’s insatiable and bloodthirsty Brides, who systematically drink his blood, leaving him weak and unable to escape.

Picture
Monica Bellucci: The Man Who Loves
Cast: Pierfrancesco Favino, Monica Bellucci, Kseniya Rappoport

The film is about a love, Roberto’s love, that is absolute. The kind of love that can cut you down, or totally fill your life. The kind of love that can make you vomit as soon as you get up in the morning, or can make you feel like you are the only man on earth. The love that can mean fulfillment, or the grief of abandonment. The love that songs sing about, books write about, the love that the philosopher Barthes called ’obscene’, and for which nothing on earth is more important, no catastrophes greater than a call that does not come from the person loved. Everyone close to Roberto is struggling with the theme of love: his two women, his brother, his parents, the female doctor who owns the pharmacy where he works. All, in some way, are transformed or realized by it.

Brotherhood of the Wolf

Picture

Cast: Samuel Le Bihan, Vincent Cassel, Emilie Dequenne, Monica Bellucci, Jeremie Renier, Mark Dacascos, Charles Maquignon

Inspired by actual events taking place during the reign of King Louis XV, The Brotherhood of the Wolf revisits one of the rare French myths, that of the "Beast of Gevaudan" which killed a number of persons before being vanquished under mysterious circumstances.

For two years, the monstrous Beast had been terrorizing the region of Gevaudan, attacking mostly women and children. It is said to be colossal size and dragon-like and often rumored of being the devil. All of France was shaken by these inexplicable killings.

Delegated by the Royal Court, Gregoire de Fronsac arrives in Gevaudan one autumn night. His mission is to find the Beast and to eventually destroy it during a hunt. Strong, spirited, and rational, the young noble horseman is accompanied by the taciturn Mani, a Mohawk Indian that he met in New France during the Seven Years War. The two are housed at the home of old Marquis D'Apcher's, whose grandson, Thomas, serves as their guide.

During a dinner given in his honor, Fronsac meets Mariane De Morangias along with her brother Jean-Francois, members of the most influential family in the region. A traveler as well, Jean-Francois lost an arm during a great African hunt.

While the Beast's attacks multiply as winter arrives, Fronsac is met with animosity from the more influential people of the region. His interest for Marianne increases, but his liaison with Sylvia, a beautiful but troubled prostitute, doesn't help matters. The King, unhappy with the lack of progress during the numerous hunts, dispatches his own lieutenant, Antoine de Beauterne, to the region. No sooner does he arrive to Gevaudan, than he captures a wolf, claiming falsely that he has killed the Beast. Under the order of the King, Fronsac is forced to participate in this pretense before being allowed to return to Paris.

Braving the King's mandate not to return to Gevaudan, the horseman decides to respond to Thomas D'Apcher plea to organize one last hunt. This time, Mani will head the hunt, using ancient Shaman techniques. Nothing will prepare then for what they discover.
